Building Features
Located south of King Street, between River Street and the Don River, River City is the first phase of the Waterfront revitalization project. It will consist of five building complexes, including over 900 loft-style suites and family-friendly townhouses, as well as restaurants, cafés and boutiques on street level. River City will be fully completed in the next seven to ten years, but the first phase is ready and occupancy is slated for 2012.
Designed by Montreal-based Saucier+Perotte Architects, River City will have a bold and unique aesthetic that utilizes contrasting light and dark, hard and soft materials. The exterior will consist of dark panel and transparent glass, while inside, suites will feature exposed concrete ceilings and industrial-style finishes, paired with warm hardwood floors and wood finishes.
